WATCH THIS SPACE COMING SOON A POST ON MY TASTE OF DURBAN 2013 EXPERIENCE
My brother like most men are clueless about many things and often need us to tell them information they need.
So today my brother and his gf were going to the Taste of Durban. They both had never been before. So like always I had to share the information on the event with my brother before he left.
I visited the show yesterday so was still armed with menus, maps and general information.
As my brother was about to leave home , I sat him down and did a run through of the event. From the purchasing of crowns, to the stalls he had to visit . I even marked on the map where he need to visit and ticked off on the menus what he needed to eat.
I felt like the ORACLE giving him all this important information. The Oracle was a nickname , my friends in London gave me 🙂
So lets wait for my brother’s feedback on the event and lets see if the information I gave him was useful or is his sister silly……
There is a very popular and famous saying that goes like” when one door closes and ten open for you”
The last week in the life of me has proven this tenfold.I am actually gobsmacked and still in shock as to all the opportunities and things that have happened to me.I actually even asked my cousin M to pinch me to make sure I was not dreaming. The opportunities that are coming my way are totally WOW and I will reveal all in good time.
When my life as a blogger and tweeted started , never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would have these opportunities coming my way. Through my social media contacts , I have made some very good friends who are so inspirational and support me and my work all the time.I actually feel so humbled knowing these people hold me in such high regard.
THANKS must go to the man above for affording me the privilige to surround my life with amazing people who bring with them kind words, inspiration and motivation into my life….

We all love yummy chocolate gooey treats especially during the winter months. But as a not so keen baker I tend to shy away from baking and often just buy some treats.
Over the weekend I spent time trolling my Facebook feed and found a recipe and I amo most defiantely going to make …… at some point . The reasons I love this recipe and have saved it is:
a) it takes 5 minutes only
b) I have all these ingredients at home .
c) I can make individual portions.
d) It can be made in the microwave.
However be WARNED ! This is the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night
4 tbsp. flour
4 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa
3 tbsp. milk
3 tbsp. oil
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
Serve on its own with a dollop of fresh cream , custard or icecream!
Do let me know if you try this out 🙂
For all beauty bloggers the coming to South Africa of Kiehls was like a dream come true. The South African stores are the first in Africa yipee.
The first SA store was opened within Edgars in Sandton. I was super jealous that is until I want a box of goodies from them to try out .
Now Kiehls is opening in DURBAN 🙂 , at the Pavilion and within Edgars this weekend.
A little background of this brand
* The brand is 161 years old.
*its original flagship store is still in NEW YORK
*The brand never advertises
*the packaging is not fancy but contains useful information on the products.
*the staff are amazing and I even got a handwritten letter with my samples.
*the products are of an amazing quality and work wonders.
My alll time favourite product is :
Midnight Recovery Concentrate
Introduced in 2010, this is Kiehl’s number one bestseller at the moment. Described as “A Replenishing Elixir of Pure Essential Oils and Distilled Botanicals”, this serum includes lavender oil as well as omega 3, 6 and 9. Apply 2-3 drops before bed, on its own or over your night cream, and let it work its magic while your skin is most receptive to regeneration. The smell as well as the fact that it’s 99,8% naturally derived and free of parabens. It freshens up tired skin and contributes to a radiant glow (this one is a must after a big night out!). Don’t drop dead by the price – as you only use 2-3 drops a night, a 30ml bottle will last a long time.
Midnight Recovery Concentrate is R549 for 30ml. A little pricey but so worth it ! I am been very stingy with this bottle of mine 🙂
So do check them out on Twitter
As a crazy foodie , I religiously watch all food related shows so when Masterchef SA season 2 started I was over the moon.
I tend to interact very often on Social Media with the contestants on the show and brands. So as part of Team TMG I approached the awesome Kamini Pather a food blogger on the show and a contestant to do an interview with her. Kamini was amazing and agreed to an interview while Mnet provided TMG with fantastic images of Kamini in action.
Here is the link to the interview with Kamini:
Today would have been my Dad”s 64th birthday. My dad was an amazing man in more than one way though he often didnt show his love and affection we could feel it. My dad always made sure my brother and I always had the best and never needed anything.Birthdays are always special events in our family, so in keeping with that tonight we will have a family meal with all the treats dad loved and we will be feeding street people next weekend in dad”s memory.
Happy Birthday to my one in a million dad, WE MISS YOU EVERYDAY.The last year has not been an easy year for us but we are getting there. I hope you are proud of all the achievements Nico and I have made especially this last year. I hope today you are partying like always with cake, ice cream and your whiskey.
